He turns on the soft table lamp. She sleeps peacefully, as he tries to commit each line of her into his memory with adoring eyes. He steadies himself, methodically noting every minute detail of the day, in the measured circle of light, knowing, soon this will be lighter of memories, as disease claims his brain.

Disease of the mind scares me more than disease of the body. It's very well written.
