Musings with Gibran

Gibran said "Remembrance is a form of meeting"
So, I believe I did meet you
As you ambled freely
Through my Mind
Churning the moments
Woven into eons of carpet
Covering my mind's ground
Oozing the warmth of a fire
Burning slowly, steadily...
The never-ending logs
Running into Chapters
Of an unfinished Book.
I believe I was to meet you
In the mind street
Where Love street intersects
With Friends and Ambition
But, I lost my way
Arriving at a dead end.
Yet, we did meet.

Gibran said "Forgetfulness is a form of freedom"
I know what he means
For I feel light,
As that feather
That floats randomly
Touching memories
I know, are there
But have no memory of.
More Lighter, on the days
Chores are forgotten
Yet they are done
Arguments are forgotten
And winning matters not
Foes are forgotten
And spoken to like friends
Hunger is forgotten
And I need no exercise.
Aye, Forgetfulness is a form of freedom.

Weekend Gibran

I have had a wonderful week. So I am feeling grateful for all that it was.  I hope you all had a Good work week too... and Do Have a Lovely Weekend. Remember the 3 R's- Rest, Rejuvenation and Relaxation.

I am going to share a little of Khalil Gibran, I  read a while ago. I enjoy Khalil Gibran's writing.  There is something profoundly true about what he says and he knows how to say it in a manner that is not condescending or preachy or I am holier than thou.  Here is one of his stories from "The Madman" .

A blade of grass

Said a blade of grass to an autumn leaf, "You make
such a noise falling! You scatter all my winter
dreams."

Said the leaf indignant, "Low-born and low-dwelling!
Songless, peevish thing! You live not in the upper air
and you cannot tell the sound of singing."

Then the autumn leaf lay down upon the earth and
slept. And when spring came she waked again -- and she
was a blade of grass.

And when it was autumn and her winter sleep was upon
her, and above her through all the air the leaves were
falling, she muttered to herself, "O these autumn
leaves! They make such a noise! They scatter all my
winter dreams."
