Creative Challenge #76 - Vast beyond Measure.

Love letter

Dear Money,

From behind my veil,
Your crisp, sinewy beauty
Makes my breath keel.
Sparks of blatant desire
Deep within me swells
A need to possess you,
In all ways I could.
Do whatever it takes,
To Make you mine,
Exclusively mine.
Owning you,
To do as I please.
I'm lost, in my lust for you,
I know, that which was never mine,
Will never be mine to keep.
I should let you be,
So you will choose to come to me.
Yet, my obsession for you,
Is Vast, beyond Measure.
My love for you grows ever more,
You, Intoxicate Me.

Awaiting your positive response
Your Lover from afar, Me.

Blog thingy - What my Name means.

Name : RASHMI
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Indian
Other Scripts: रश्मी (Hindi)
Means "ray of sunlight" or "rope" in Sanskrit.

Thank you Simona, Now, I had to do this....The link is Here and to a Large degree this is true.

Your number is: 3

The characteristics of #3 are: Expression, verbalization, socialization, the arts, the joy of living.

The expression or destiny for #3:
An Expression of 3 produces a quest for destiny with words along a variety of lines that may include writing, speaking, singing, acting or teaching; our entertainers, writers, litigators, teachers, salesmen, and composers. You also have the destiny to sell yourself or sell just about any product that comes along.(This Hasnt been true, I make a lousy salesman, I cant persuade my own family most times) You are imaginative in your presentation, and you may have creative talents in the arts, although these are more likely to be latent. You are an optimistic person that seems ever enthusiastic about life and living. You are friendly, loving and social, and people like you because you are charming and such a good conversationalist. Your ability to communicate may often inspire others. It is your role in life to inspire and motivate; to raise the spirits of those around you.

The negative side of number 3 Expression is superficiality. You may tend to scatter your forces and simply be too easygoing(this is why I need my regular yoga and meditation sessions). It is advisable for the negative 3 to avoid dwelling on trivial matters, especially gossip.

Your Soul Urge number is: 7

A Soul Urge number of 7 means:
With a number 7 Soul Urge you are very fond of reading, and retreating to periods of being alone and away from the disruptions of the outer world. You like to dream and develop you idealistic understandings, to study and analyze, to gain knowledge and wisdom. You may be too laid back and withdrawn to really succeed in the business world, and you will be much more comfortable in circumstances that are tolerant of your reserve, your analytical approach, and your desire to use your mind rather than your physical being.

You are very timid around people that you don't know very well, so much so at times that casual conversation and social situations can be strained. You tend to repress your emotions to the extent that some people have a good bit of difficult understanding you(make that mostly true, I am a recipe for being misunderstood). You tend to be very selective with friends and you don't easily adapt to new environments or to new people very quickly.

The negative traits of the 7 include becoming too much the introvert and isolated from others.

Your Inner Dream number is: 5

An Inner Dream number of 5 means:
You dream of being totally free and unrestrained by responsibility.(oh that is the Wholesome truth of my life) You see yourself conversing and mingling with the natives in many nations, living for adventure and life experiences. You imagine what you might accomplished.

Random Ramble on a Lazy Sunday

I havent watched a lot of bollywood movies since my return from India.   Reasons range from not having unconscious access to hindi movies(like its on TV so I watched while doing my chores) to not having the patience to spend 3 hours watching it. Then last week I watched Delhi 6.. It was entertaining. I didnt like the storyline but it had some funny dialogues.  I didnt like the lack of conclusion in the movie but it was alright to watch it.  There was no song and dance around the trees, which I loved, but it did have a songs in it.  I am out of touch with Bollywood movies...This movie was a Flop in the box-office(I read about it after I saw the movie).  The plot was flimsy. It tries to see Delhi from a US born Desi's point of view and I liked the movement in that view from awe, open to anything, to acceptance and then disgust when things work out weirdly .

I have had a lot to think about, for those who know me, know that my life has never been without the thinking... My husband sometimes teases me before going to bed with "dont start thinking now, and if you are still compelled, think - sleep" cause hes been my recorder for thoughts before bedtime and after 13 years I guess, hes had enough, poor guy.  Ever since my Mother's passing, I have had to seriously question my beliefs.  I  see my life as directionless most times, not that I mind, cause it leads me to unexpected treasures.   But there are times when I wonder, should I actually take control of where I am going?  And my right brain argues with a question, Why? Where do you really want to get to? That stumps me. Cause I dont have a place to get to.. I have a need for moments.. Moments of awe, love, joy, gratitude, growth, knowing, understanding, care etc...so I wonder, do all of you have a Place to Get to and walked in Control of your destinations?

Moving on, I have had it with shelves that are beyond my reach.  The kitchen counters arent at a comfortable height to say knead dough or cut stuff up, the shelves and things that matter are built for TALL people.  Its been my peeve with all the TALL ones, cause they think, just because they can reach up for things and look down on me with such ease, I should be able to do the same.  Their one process job like -  look up and reach,  takes four processes for me - Look up and estimate if I can reach, then find the step-stool,  lift the stool and bring it to the place where I want to reach, then climb up and reach. Thats 1:4 effort, is it any wonder I am tired? Ok, First I am going to find some money and then I am hiring a Tall Handy Person for two months and get them to do all the jobs that require me to Stretch to my limit to reach.  Do you know someone who is over 6 feet tall(I did ask my family members back home but they are unwilling to come for this job description) and would work for food and clothes and is Trustworthy?

This week has been a week of surprises -- He who never reads what I write(my husband) read something  I wrote and said "You should write a book".  I thought I had died and gone to heaven.  I was in serious trouble with all the thoughts I had..what of my children, how are they going to survive without a mother at this age, would they like their step-mother.. etc.. etc.. and realized I had gotten ahead of myself and woke up.  And then two days later, He who never says anything(my dad) said over the phone that he was very proud of how my children have turned out inspite of not having help from my family to bring them up. I had to pinch myself to make sure I was not dreaming, cause I was so surprised he said it. My dear thoughtful son this week, asked me if I still felt sad about my Mother's passing.. and when I said yes I did sometimes, he told me to tell him about it when I did, so he can give me a Hug. (wiping a tear and thanking heavens above for his preciousness).  My walking in my footsteps, opinionated yet adorable, daughter, said that my flute playing sounded like the song it was intended to play.  Shes not quick to give a compliment.  This week has been such a wonderful week because of all these unexpected Treasures for my Treasure chest.

I have been reading The Law of Attraction and The five love Languages of Children on recommendation from my friend, Sophia.  I now wonder if I had a good week due to the subconscious working on what I read or it was just a good week. Hmm.. doubt is definitely not a good friend of mine, its the rain on my parade. So I am going to stop.  The books are good, though its old wisdom in new packages and new word-definitions... As I read it I realize, I should have wrote down the things my Grandmother did and said instead of labelling it as superstition or tradition.  It would have been a best seller too in the non-fiction section.

Its Sunday, and I havent got anything done, we had a lazy, lazy morning.  Breakfast was boiled eggs, fruits and nuts.  Our Yard looks neat cause we raked the piles of leaves yesterday while the sun decided to shine.  Today, it is cloudy, but I am not feeling cloudy, so its good.  All in all, I have had the best week this week and feeling blessed.  How has your week been?

Have a lovely Sunday and a Productive rest of the week.

Peace
Rashmi.

Creative Challenge #75 - Darkness follows

There are some who feel
Darkness follows their heel
No matter where they go
Or what they do.

I wish to tell them a secret
Check the thoughts you pet
Are you waiting for the axe to fall
Specially when you are having a ball?
Are you thinking, things might go wrong
Even as you hum a happy song?
Are you thinking of what if's
When happy times seem too swift?
Are you thinking of all the things you dont want
When you could think of  things you want?

There is hope
Happiness is yours to rope,
Watch what gets your attention
Think of what you want
Being aware, takes away tension
Your being will smile and flaunt
As you let joy within grow
Darkness hesitates to follow.

Ten thought Tuesday

1.  Its typical Oregon Weather, cloudy, dreary and add to it a sniffling, sneezing, coughing household and you got a repetetive story of Fall in my life.  Guess I should be grateful, there isnt any fever going around.  (Note to self : Pay attention to what you want in life rather than all those things that you think arent working for you)

2.  I have been thinking...I know thats nothing new but this time I cant remember what I was thinking *giggling* guess my brain lost a few cells.

3.  I was reading about the Balloon boy story and wondered about Aspirations, Goals and Priorities in peoples Lives.  As I started to judge that Family, I realized I need to clean my own backyard so there I got myself the whip :P.

4.  I dont really understand what is Sane anymore...Mostly we judge anyone who moves away from a norm as off their rocker to varying degrees.  Then I see conventionally sane people who do not question if what they believe to be true are actually relevant or adds to their own growth.. I must be Insane, to be seeing what I dont need to see.

5.  How do you behave with people who one day act like you are their best friend and the next day forget you exist?  I  let them be but I would love to know whats going on in their heads, why the 180 degree turn in a span of 2 days? Is it a kind of power game?  Pre-occupation?  Self-importance?  Fear?

6.  After a lot of thinking(Yay! I found the missing brain cell) I realize that human beings are Selfishly Selfless. Altruism is selfishness without a seemingly tangible gain, cause in all of that, we do feel good about Ourselves(not that that is a bad thing, but that we still have something to gain and know it hence selfish)

7.  We watched a bollywood movie Delhi 6.. Loved the dialogues in it...its an enjoyable movie and doesnt have the song and dance around the trees(I somehow abhor it.. guess I just hate having fun, I am elitist :P)

8. My son is home today cause hes fatigued with sniffling and coughing through the night and this is taking very long to finish.

9. I better get lunch cooked.. Its Rice and Rajma(kidney beans). All are invited though its not something special..

10.  A Zit  decided to grace my face today, guess I am getting into my teens again.

Senses

Sight

One Glance at sunrise
The heavenly moment Stayed
For ever Summer.

Hearing

Love whispers through mist
The Heart empties its winter
Snows melt, rivers flow.

Smell

Faint hints of a whiff
The scent of your loving soul
Spring springs in Eden.

Taste

Locked lips gently taste
Summers forbidden sweetness
Leaving stamped tongue-prints.

Touch

Fingers and palms meet
Shivers drench wholly my being
Hope awakes within.

Creative Challenge #74 -As thick as thieves

I leaf through the scrapbook, dusty with age.
Every visit to my past, brings a new outlook into my life's page.

Me and my  memories
Are thick as thieves.
Childhood files -
The fall from the tamarind tree
The  time we ran around naked and free
Rainy day screams at the leech on my feet
Wishing it could hear my fear in the peat
Catching crabs in the rice bunds
Collecting eggs in the chicken coup
Childhood, with its unlimited fun.

Me and my memories
Are thick as thieves.
College days files -
Us layering chalk dust on the teacher's desk
Just so we could measure her seat's breadth
That time in the bus when we stood statuesque
After purposely touching  the baldman's head
Getting off at the wrong bus-stop
Just so we could see the movie star
Youth, Gone in such a flash.

I sit quietly reminiscing, What I was and what I am
Gratefully Understanding, It is enough
I am what I am.

Creative Challenge #73- Happiest days of my life.

Head sinks into the inviting soft pillow
The days work done to our best ability,
Happiness sighs into the quiet night.

Buttons pushed in provocation
Headstrong remained civility

Happiness smiles at discipline.

Loud voices shout out in anger
One remains soft and gentle
Happiness alive in patience.

Unexpected jewels along the way
A compliment, kindness, belly laughs
Happiness spills around.

Honesty in all that is done
Eyes meet and smile at the mirror.
Happiness arrives with Intergrity.

Happiest days are those
When nothing is posed
When we are genuinely alive.

Ten Thought Tuesday

I have been watching stuff on the TV that relates to Extrasensory Perception.. hmm.. I wonder if it has to do with my mother's passing. Of course, I have always enjoyed stories of ghosts, time-traveling, magicians, wizards etc.. but this has become a preoccupation now.
(Note to self :  Let go, Let go, Let go. whats over, done and gone needs to stay that way.)

I missed doing pranayama 3 days since wednesday last. Have to get back to it before I beat myself up over it.

The whole of yesterday I literally vegetated... except for cooking that is, which means, I have a Load of Chores to get through today. (Pulling my hair wondering what I was thinking yesterday)  I hate dark mornings.  I like the Yell from the Sun each day.

Oct 5th was my dad's birthday... He's 72. This is the first one in 39 years without my mother.  He seems to be getting out of grieving, he's been having his meals and going out with his retired buddies and spending time getting stuff done.. I hope he never gets to the immobility he went through the past few months...He wont let anyone take care of him because of his oversized Ego(which he calls self-respect).  I wish he and I could trade, He puts his Ego down and I will put My Expectation to bed.... it would be a fair trade, wont it?  (Note to self : repeat the Let Go mantra)

So I read that, the Iranian President, Ahmedinijad was wrongly assumed to be of Jewish origin(some article in the Times) and now another Newspaper refutes that claim.. I wonder  "So What?"  How does it matter what his origin is?  what his opinions and ideas right now, should matter to his Presidency.. but no! we have to pull out something he had no control over, like his ORIGIN.  Some did the same with President Obama, about him being Part Muslim, since his Father is one...Like he had control over what the religion of his Father was.  But look at the Irony.. Former Presidents- W. Clinton(Having sex with a subordinate While at Work) and G.W Bush(LYING and misusing the Power vested in him, to Invade a Nations that is a dot compared to the size of US and almost powerless compared to the power wielded by the US) and all these were within their control to NOT do so, which in my eyes, is a Matter of Ethics.  And they did something that was misuse of the tax payer's hard earned money but the Media doesnt make any noise about it.  See why I dont  like Politics or the Media?... They have no sense of Priorities.  They like making Nonsensical issues the size of a molehill into a mountain.  Media loves to put more Ghee into the Fire.

Now that school is in full swing, theres too many things to do.. I miss the lazy summer vacation time(arent I greedy?)  on the other hand, I really appreciate the quiet uninterrupted time I have while they are at school.  Sometimes I wonder if I was designed to be the Living Alone, Hermit or Loner, cause I seem to like being quiet, alone, doing my own thing, by my self...ok.. exaggeration, I like it that way sometimes.. only my sometimes, extends to over a few days.

We harvested our tomatoes, cilantro, mint and chillies yesterday..We got a few Long Beans too. Grateful for the bounty though I couldnt give the care I should have... But theres always a next year.

My children have begun the leaf collecting.. they do this every year at this time and I end up with more leaves than I know what to do. But it makes them happy, and I am a sucker for their laughter.

I was looking at the stuff I have around me and realized, I cant put myself in any classification of style... I know what I like when I see it, touch it, feel it  but I also tend to consider practicality, functionality, durablity and affordability when I buy stuff.  I like my walls light and I dont fill them up.  I like air and light, and furniture to be dark toned(mahagony, rose or cherry), comfortable to use and fairly ornate, I like floors and counters that can be easily cleaned.  I enjoy open areas within and outside the home so that any activity can be done without needed to find space for it.

I have been wondering about getting Kindle, though I am not a gadget person(I dont even use my cellphone the way people say I should)... it is practical but it will leave a void in me while I read.. I like the touch and smell of paper.

The Nobel Prizes for this year will be announced... I like reading about the discoveries and inventions... Makes me feel the Awe of our brain's potential.

Is it ten yet?

Ander's 100 words - Tell Your Tale - Brain

Said  one Brain to the other

"How do you do Brother?"

The Other said

"Well, but completely Dead"

A short pause and "How are you?

Said One "I know something's askew"

They look away from the sun

Floating in the Methanal fun

Within the Pungent liquid

Like pickled gaint squid

They stare at each other

Knowing they are together

Like Brothers in Arms

In quiet sound of Alarms

Silently they drift asleep

Nearby they hear someone weep

Eyes heavily shut

Familiar sounds cut

Their seeming unconsciousness

Said One “Such an epitome of preciousness”

Other “Sure, if they were within the cranium”

Tsunami Thoughts

Another Tsunami hits Indonesia and other Island Nations in the Pacific.  More deaths and devastation.  We have no control over this event. I cant imagine what the people there are going through...In my own selfish way...I am hoping two of my blog-mates from the surrounding areas are safe and alive.

Tsunami of Oct 1st 2009

Among the moonbeams
Along the ocean's seams
Ride silvery waves
Leaving lonesome caves
To far off lands
Across the sands
As salty tears
Drip at the chaotic piers
Over lives lost, so many
In another Tsunami
Wishing it wasnt so
Knowing it is so
Palms join in focussed thoughts
May grieving hearts find safe spots.
