Recently, Intel researchers have been able to demonstrate a 60-watt light bulb glow from an energy source 3 feet away while losing only 25 % of the energy they started with. This advance builds on work last year by MIT scientists, who lost most of the energy they started with in their demonstration. The Possible applications for this energy transfer includes wireless power for pacemakers, artificial hearts and laptops.
