Creative Challenge 30 : Appreciate and Adore

Adoration

In the Long Dark Alleys of my mind
You walked quietly beside me
Not taking my hand yet present
Not holding my being yet loving
Not asking what was wrong yet listening
Not telling me what to do yet trusting
Not knowing how to help yet hoping
Not Doing anything for me, yet giving.

If you could read my heart
You would know what my lips cant say
"Thank You, for the gift of yourself"
If you could read my eyes
You would know what my lips wont say
"My every atom, holds memories of you."

How do you manage to reach into my heart and pull out things that I dream of but cannot express?... You are indeed a poet... Thank you again.. as I wipe the tears

Mindsnomad Yay said...

Oh, I didnt mean to make you tear up..(sheepishly sorry). Thank you :)

This is so precious, the second paragraph being my favorite...it really speaks to the soul!

aw... But I LOVE my tears when you write... You bring them from places I had forgotten about or that I had not been able to find expression or definiton with.
... What you create is your business...That is when you do not consider anything but the creation... and not what another opinion sees. That is not of your concern... otherwise we would never creat out of fear of what others think.
Maybe you need a little name tag that says..." Rashmi, Poet Extraordinaire"....I guarantee anything that comes out of your mouth will be considered differently... You will now be free to be as eccentric as you like, say what you like and be what you like... and people will not say a word.. cause you beat 'em to the punch..he he...
Which brings up another thought... We are all creators ... until someone tells us we are not. ( "Oh Jimmy, you can't do that!, You're too small, or crippled, or not old enough or smart enough..You can't draw.. You're not an artist) Guess what? Everyone who deep inside would LOVE to create things like others do?... Well the only reason they can't is 'cause someone TOLD them they couldn't somewhere in their early years..)

I am tempted to ask, is there a specific person you have in mind when you write this, a father, grandfather, or is it the soul or a divine aspect you write of?

marlicia fernandez said...

This is beautiful. I can imagine how a person would feel to receive this poem. Very well done.

Dark alleys of the mind.. I would agree. There is so much about ourselves we just don't know, so many unexplored uncharted passages to voyage along in search of oourselves. It's lifelong discovery.
Your poem that you wrote is a wonderful write, very well done indeed.

I did have for the first part but when I got to the second verse, it felt like that person wasnt a separate entity outside of me.

Mindsnomad Yay said...

thank u, for taking me into the forgotten alleys of my life... hopefully i will get my art back and be able to write about happier things!

That is very nice and something we men have a hard time with when we don't stop to think about it... not asking what is wrong, just listening. We tend to want to fix things and have to be conscious of the need to just be heard at times.

To step within yourself, then separate, float above and look down upon yourself and see all that which is good and pure, necessary and nurtured, be it from a spiritual aspect or deep inner knowledge, I would venture to say, you have found the path to you.

Thank you for the kind comments.. And you are welcome, I dont think I did anything, it is just your time to recognize your gifts. :)

Mindsnomad Yay said...

Yes, men do seem to have a hard time with it. Tenderness goes a long way in a relationship, women appreciate the men and become more giving in a relationship, when they know their men are Present in their life, which means being aware of her needs. It isnt all about the gifts you can buy or the solutions you present.

Mindsnomad Yay said...

@ Vickie and Sylvie : thank you! :)

@ Bill : Thank you, :). I do hope to stay on that path.

I didn't understand the comment you made to the person who asked if this was about yourself or someone else, but to me it reads like you found yourself and recognize the journey you've been on. But the MOST important thing you found out is that you were never alone. YOU were always there waiting on you to figure out there is someone within yourself who can heal, touch, hug, and love you more than anyone else on earth can. And that person is yourself. NICELY done!

You have concluded rightly...and put words for the thoughts. I did start out with this friend in mind but as the words flowed it began to feel like it was Me and not really that friend.
