Creative Challenge #75 - Darkness follows

There are some who feel
Darkness follows their heel
No matter where they go
Or what they do.

I wish to tell them a secret
Check the thoughts you pet
Are you waiting for the axe to fall
Specially when you are having a ball?
Are you thinking, things might go wrong
Even as you hum a happy song?
Are you thinking of what if's
When happy times seem too swift?
Are you thinking of all the things you dont want
When you could think of  things you want?

There is hope
Happiness is yours to rope,
Watch what gets your attention
Think of what you want
Being aware, takes away tension
Your being will smile and flaunt
As you let joy within grow
Darkness hesitates to follow.

We are what we think, eh? I know when I have negative thoughts--today just happened to be such a day lol--my day is yucky. But as you so eloquently wrote, "Darkness hesitates to follow" if my thoughts are more joyful. Thanks for the reminder!

You are welcome. :) We are what we focus our attention on. My Maternal Grandmother had this rule that she will never say anything bad about anyone, any situation or about herself and though she had a hard life, she was fine with it. I used to argue with her saying "even if we didnt say it, we think it, so why not say what we think". It took a long while but I get the why Now, so now I just need to practise it. ;)

I am still working on that one.. ;).
