I
A newborn's eyes Blink
As a toast to new parents, Clink
Smiles, like flowers blooming
Infant looks on, uncaring.
II
A little girl in the sandbox
Her Hair, dirty in matted locks
The music of the ice-cream truck
Found a Penny, oh what luck!
III
He watches with gentle eyes
Waiting for her answer
She looks up and Smiles
Hugs and kisses abound.
IV
She wipes his face
In a coma for days
Loving him like always
Shoulders crave, his embrace.
V
Welcoming all
To the wake
Silently thankful
While the lonely heart cries.
Time moving through
Uncaring,
What Birth?
What Luck?
What Love?
What Duty?
What Death?
A mere glance at
Time's Unspoken Looks.
