This was taken in Coorg, a small but picturesque district in Southern India. This is where my ancestors are from. It lies in the Western Ghats, a mountain range that runs north-south along the west coast of the Indian peninsula. At the time, my aunt lived in this Huge Coffee Estate with quite a few lakes. I took a walk with my cousins along this particular lake which was so still as there was no breeze. For a moment, I glimpsed my heaven, my Peace. I had wished my mind could remain like this, serene pools, never disturbed, never chaotic, reflecting whatever the others did or said without loosing its essence. I have a long journey to make to get to that kind of Serene-ness but someday I hope to get there.
The green shrubs that you see are the Coffee plants. Coorg has both varieties of Coffee. Arabica variety, which has a milder flavour of coffee is usually preferred internationally, hence fetches a better price for the farmers. The Broad leafed Robusta is better suited for thriving in the lesser elevated regions of Coorg.
