There are times when I like listening to songs that have typical folk or Classical tones to them. I do enjoy classical(Carnatic and Hindustani) but not as a connoisseur of it, but as a layman who’s ears like particular sounds. It could be in any Indian language. Here are some of the songs I have liked. Most of these songs are in Telugu the language of the People from the State of Andra Pradesh. Enjoy.
AnandaBhiravi-thandav
Anandbhiravi- murali
Swathimuthyam- suvi suvi
Vedam – Sagarasangamam
Omkara- Shankarabaranam
Govina Haadu- Language Kannada- This song is about being Honest, Keeping your word. The story is of a Cow named Punyakoti who is attacked by a tiger while she was returning to the shed to feed her young son. She tells the tiger that she will return once she has fed her son so that she could be the tiger’s food. The tiger reluctantly lets her go thinking she wouldn’t return. But she does return, making the tiger remorseful enough to jump off the cliff to his death. It’s a folk story so don’t go looking for realism.
Nesara Nodu- Kannada folk
Chemmeen- Kadalinakare Ponnoure- Malayalam Folk
Hope you guys enjoyed the musical. Have a lovely weekend.
Peace always,
Mithuna.
