What a wonderful analyses of the homo sapiens and our "superior" intellect. If you were a visitor from a distant galaxy and happened by chance to land in Tucson a week ago, could you report back to your planet that you had discovered intelligent life, a "superior species?"

Indeed, we humans can be pretty darn stupid at times but fool ourselves into thinking otherwise. And then we imagine how superior we are, just as you said.
