Ten thoughts Tuesday.

1. School will begin in a week. I am looking forward to empty, cleaner house and time to write. As much as I enjoy being around my children, I still like a break.

2. I am growing old, I heard my joints creek this morning and I saw more grey hair... Aye, I woke up feeling like I was ancient. I am thinking it has to do with the dull weather we have had these past 3 days.

3. On Sunday evening we found squirrel babies that fell out of the tree and the mother was no where around, so later we took them and kept them warm and on Monday we took them to the animal shelter. Will call them today to find out how they are doing. Here is a picture of them.. I didnt want to exploit their misery so this is the only one we have for the memory book.

4. I cant stand those rascals that dig in my planters yet I I wanted the little ones to live long and healthy. Weird eh? Why cant I be consistent with what I feel?

5. I have been running across comments about Obama and his religion. Seriously, I am very ashamed at the way my species think. We are so unfocussed about our priorities in life and we have time for the unnecessary. So his religion is more important than finding employment, making sure that everyone gets healthcare, making sure that schools are "educating" and not just baby sitting, making sure that punishment actually fits the crime or for that matter finding ways in which people dont need to do something criminal so they can live. Aye, I am the Ignorant Idealist.

6. I got 7 more beans from my bean plant. All of the Dahlias bloomed. The fig tree looks beautiful. I like working with plants, even when I end up knowing that there are muscles in my back. And they dont take advantage of your kindness or your care for them.

7. My children are growing taller. I need to find trousers that are long yet have a small waist and shirts that dont fall of their shoulders. *sigh* Another hunt session. I hate shopping.

8. I got myself new sandals and then realized that summer is over...Well, Thank heavens! my feet dont grow anymore.

9. My husband had a shocker when he saw a Picture of Catherine Zeta Jones without the makeup. And I danced mentally with my two left feet.

10. Thank you for visiting and reading up to here. May this day be a joyful, productive Day. May you find a smile in everything you do.

Peace
Rashmi.

1. Ah , yes..I remember when all three finally were in school all day...I could finally do my creative things... albeit they were focused primarily on my home .. I managed to learn to sew, plant my succulent garden on the side of the house...and most importantly... relax. .lol
2. Oh, puhleeze ...getting old ..pffft .. I bet it is you letting your body rebel .. knowing only a week till you can do some R & R ... You have given the children a great summer vacation.. and now it is their turn to give you your Autumnal retreat ..
3. Future mischief makers
4. I have a squirrel who picks up the leavings of bird feed I have set out. I guess there wasn't enough the other night , so he managed to 'squirrel' his way into my bird seed bin...I lock it now..As for mixed feelings... I had those a while back .. until I realize it is me who sits in my patio and enjoys the natural setting, the birds and a growing number of critters visiting my space... Not so wierd to care for something that is helpless and in your space. I wonder if a fox got mama, or a car.
5. The focus on religion will intensify.. and in my manifestation this will be a very interesting arena..as transparency becomes unavoidable.
6. I used to have an incredible garden....55 ft by 30 ft...8 fruit trees we planted ourselves...over a 1000 flowering bulbs blooming continuously through the year. 3 raised bed vegie gardens .. An herb garden.. and even a beautifuI Lattice surround near the patio with orchids and ferns ..had a violet Dinner Plate Dahlia... stunning..The corm was about ten years old... and it produced so many mega blooms .. I would put them in a huge vase on my table.. spectacular.. Wish I had pics.
7. LOL "I hate shopping" ...It doesnt get any better as you get older either... I still hate it ..
8. Never know.. we might have another summer wave come through.. Mother Nature is revvin' up for a good housecleaning.. wash, rinse, dry.. wash, rinse dry... She's on a roll.
9. hmmm Now I am curious .
10. And thank you for sharing... I have designs on being productive today .. let's see how far it goes. I am leaving this blog.. with a smile.
Peace.

I guess for some it does, given the controversy on the "Islamic cultural center" at ground zero. I cant understand why anyone would build in a place where the energy hangs heavy. Cant be left as it is or build back two towers if you want to show resilence or build a memorial(we are good at doing that)...

I agree with your comments about Obama and his religion 100%. I would never think of you as an "Ignorant Idealist". I, too, am amazed at how folks stereotype, make assumptions, take the focus off the real issues.

I had to laugh at how your 2 left feet mentally danced when hubbie saw Mrs. Jones minus makeup. lolol

School has already started here. Time sure has been whizzing by this year!

Love the baby squirrel pic. The fact that you wanted them to live while remaining annoyed at the damage they do to your yard/garden does not seem at all inconsistent to me. It sorta reminds me how there are times I am angry at the ones I love, but I love them no less.

Sandals are comfy--I love my Birks--but barefoot is is even comfier ;).

I have been growing aloe for a few decades now.. There are some things I have learned...
Of course I do live in So California and that is a plus for any succulent... But that being said... succulents are extremely hardy .. and can revive from any condition except rot due to too much water or a deep freeze. They do better in a partially sunny location...too much sun keeps the blades from accumulating water for production of gel. The thicker and more succulent the blades, the better. They do get thicker the more the plant matures also. But they will do fine as long as they are protected in the winter from extreme cold..and have a location that affords the most light without constant direct sun. I suppose up where you are.. it will be no problem lol
If you notice the blades are soggy and limp... cut this off.. and if the whole plant is like that except for any small portion of blade.. you can restart with the healthy piece of blade... just stick it in some good soil that will not stay wet all the time... They like to dry out, so after it has rooted well and seems robust.. drop back on watering gradually .. I water mine very little..Can be grown in pots, like mine are now.. If you plant them in the ground, they will multiply over time.. and you will have enough to open your own burn center...lol I suggest bringing it inside in winter if its in a pot..
