Ten thought tuesday.

1. I woke late today,  I didn’t hear the alarm, so we Rushed through our morning. I am breathing now that they are at school.

2.  The coffee is good.  I do wonder if the pilgrim who smuggled the beans from Mecca, Arabia to Mysore, India in the 1600’s ever thought someone like me,  generations after him would give him thanks. Here's the picture of Coffee blossoms.  They smell a little like Jasmine but much milder.

3.       Yesterday, the children and I worked on a 3D puzzle, kneeling on the floor and today I am very aware of every muscle in my back…I am growing old.  This is one of the things we did.Art by my son.

Art by my daughter
Art by me

4.       Don’t you hate it when someone you just met or is just an acquaintance, addresses you as “Honey” or “Baby” or “sweetheart”?  Seriously, I am not that Sweet and no! I am not a Baby either, I have Babies, two, as a matter of fact.  I don’t see them address Men like that.  Ok, done with my peeve.

Note to Self : Next time just stop them, smile and repeat your name.

5.       I have been on a movie binge.  These 4 days.. I watched four movies.  Chak De India, A Wednesday(I wrote reviews for both),  Sin Nombre(a Spanish movie about Gang warfare) and Jodha Akbar, was a repeat watch cause I like the songs and the Opulence shown in the movie.

6.       I was also on a half strike…I refused to do any chore that didn’t mean playing, reading or vegetating with the children. My husband was very amused and took it upon himself to do some of the cleaning. Yay! Me.

7.       Back to my reality. I have to get all the chores done now. Hmph….will think about that after I get off here.

8.       On an impulse, I got a book “Ifferisms, an anthology of aphorisms that begin with the word if” by Dr. Mardy Grothe… It has thought provoking yet hilarious quotes from people around the world. here’s a random one  - “If we were all given the magic the power to read each other’s thoughts, I suppose the first effect would be to dissolve all friendships.” – Bertrand Russell.

Hmm… For all his intellect, he didn’t have very much trust did he?  Oh no! now he just killed my grand wish to be Psychic.

9.       Oh the sun came out… I hope it stays for the day… if it did, I would be its slave, oh wait! I already am its slave*giggling*

10.   I am going to go out and bask in the sunlight for a while… I need to replenish Vitamin D and serotonin.

Have a wonderful day! Thank you for reading through J.

4. here in GA everyone calls each other, sugar, and darlin', in VA it was honey, we say it affectionately, it's a southern thing...I think maybe for you it's the way they say it? I do know northerners are sometimes offended by it...you are too SWEET!

2. I want to smell those coffee blossoms!

10. lol just don't stay long enough to get skin cancer

i love your ten thought tuesdays!!

i too hate it when ppl i don't know well call me sweetheart or baby. esp when it's a man doing that. once a guy on my staff who reported to me, had the audacity to call me sweetheart when i stopped by his desk to ask him for a report. it was his first day at work and i don't know whether or not he was aware that i was his boss, but i fired him then and there.

oh, and a recent guest who is a total coffee addict brought some coffee along coz he knew i wouldn't have any. he left it behind and yesterday, i thought i'd try it out. ugh.... i love the smell of coffee but i hate how it tastes. so now i'm using the coffee to scrub and rinse out my pots and pans. it leaves them shiny and fresh-smelling, and it gets rid of old smells in the tupperware. and it exfoliates my hands beautifully. yes, coffee is good after all!!

p.s. don't hate me :D

I liked the pic of coffee blossoms. And the pics of the kids' and your artwork.

I know the "sweetie" thing is big here in the south, but I am with ya' on that one.

Like the idea of your half strike. Bet your kids enjoyed you.

Had to laugh at that quote...I figure it means if people knew what we really thought, they would all run away from us ;). So many people rarely speak what is on their minds.
