Eulogies in appreciation
Pours in after cremation
Where were these honeyed words
While the cremated walked the world?
Words do come easy when none refute or acknowledge.

Random observations of, in and about life.

mmmm...To pay a debt to the dead ?... or assuage guilt..? or make peace when courage need not be present ? I have been to so many funerals.. and you speak what most will not acknowledge, Rashmi...We make heroes where there were none.. and raise to the forefront heroes we ignored in life.. Why do we always have such needs to make things right in our heads when it is too late..and only to be heard by 'others' ?
Excellent muse. I have missed you...
Poignant observations Rashmi and all too true!
So true.
I do know what you mean about acknowledging people while they are alive. The only people that truly mean anything to me is my children, and I acknowledge them every day and they do me. What more could I ask for, eh?
I don't think honeyed words will be spoken at my funeral, if I decide to even have one. I think it will be the truth. No minister, clergy, preacher etc. will be there to say things about me, he never will have met me, in life or in death.
I do like your poem though Rashmi.
