Alcoholism

Its a sad day
Just a drink will do
Its a happy occasion
Hence, a drink is in order
Its a mundane day
A drink to ward of the boredom
A thief, needs only an excuse to thieve.
No one dares say - "You are addicted"

You do indeed seem to be venting..and beautifully, I might say.

Sad day describes it alright to an alcoholic always in want of that drink even though its slowly killing them.

The addicted ones in my family are too numerous to mention.. no need to.. but I have taken a stance on the addicted... "Do not bother me with your problem .. I am here when and if you need support in quitting , but you are not welcome in my home if you drink or use.. period." It took its toll on me.. and now I am one who considers a drunk incapable of personal relationships who depends on dysfunctionally enabling partners... of which I resigned a long time ago.
