Ten Thoughts Tuesday

1. We are done with the Flu merry go round, although my daughter still has a little stuffy nose.

2. Its been the typical Portland weather, cloudy, raining and dull.  Its been drizzling since last evening on and off and I am starved for sunshine.

3. Its spring break and the two of them are too quiet… should I check on them?

4. My daughter turned Nine 2 days ago and the first thing she said when she woke up was that she didn’t want to grow up.  I must be doing something wrong….

5. My son’s new hobby has put a dent in my clearing out unwanted stuff spree – making stuff out of cartons and recyclables.

6. This year my flowers are probably due only in fall, I just started planting. Glad I am not a Farmer on who people depend for their supply of food.  I would probably starve them this year.

7. We are going to the library later, have to get the books in order. I got a small handbook on trees in the Northwest and am amazed to find so many different kinds of Oak Trees. Need to educate myself about the trees here.

8. I have to organize the clothes closet and I am not looking forward to it.  The Joys of having a Family  – disorganized closets.  I miss the “all in its place needing dusting once a week” time in my life.  The Elders were right when they said “too many cooks spoil the broth”.  Too many hands in the closet equals a dumpster.

9. I woke early and got the Pantry cleaned out.. now I don’t want to take anything out of there for fear of messing it up again..Silly aren’t I?

10. Need to find those craft books, to keep the little ones busy. I better check on the quiet ones.

everytime i read your blog i recognise myself into so many thoughts...kids being too quiet is always scary to a mother...organise closets...i think i decided to not notice anymore...a clean pantry wow! it is the same here when i get a clean pantry i do not want to use it for a while...you do nothing wrong she does not want to grow up because she feels good at home if she was thirty...could be a problem but she is only nine...

I think the thing you are doing "wrong" is to do all the house work. Your daughter must thing that this is a grown up duty and she wants to stay a child.
That's what I thought when I was 9. Why on Earth Mom should be asking me to help in the house? I am just a kid, I don't want to do THAT! Cooking??? eh... Cleaning? ME???????
I was so busy reading books... LOL!

She's like that too.. shes reading most times, lost in those stories, sometimes I think that must be an addiction. She does enjoy(and my son too) cooking with Me so I guess all is not lost yet :P. They both abhor cleaning up, I guess thats a gene thats common to all kids
