An Event in 55 words.
“I am an empathetic person, I understand how others feel” He said.
We walked past a man dragging a woman by her hair.
I wanted to help so I stop to look,
“It’s a family matter, not our business”, he said pulling me away.
I understood him. We walked away with all of our empathy.

*winces* Ow. His empathy is sadly lacking, isn't it?
Yes and So was mine wasnt it...if I understood him? of course, the I here was a generic one...
"I wanted to help so I stop to look" - Your/Her empathy wasn't lacking - I took it that their relationship was domineering/abusive. In cases like that, discretion would be the better part of valor.
Sounds like something from caveman days - unfortunately there are still some cavemen amongst us.
Interesting. Robert Frost has a poem that talks about an incident in kind of the same way.
