In Western Music, a canon is a piece of music that is written for imitation and repetition. First one instrument or vocal starts with a piece of the melody, after which a second instrument or vocals pick up the music from the start and repeat the same exact tones as the first. It is sort of relay of the same music after a time delay. More instruments or vocals may fill in depending on the composers wishes. Here is Johann(pronounced Yohann) Pachelbel’s Canon the way it is played. When this is played on a woodwind instrument(flute, piccolo, recorder etc) it sounds very sad to my ear, although this is uplifting in the piece below.
This music has been used in many other songs and commercials, but we don’t notice it because of the variations to tones. Here’s something that I thought was funny. It’s a funny rant by a comedian talking about the different songs in which Pachelbel’s Canon has been used. I liked the way this guy has presented the whole lesson on Pachelbel’s Canon.
Hope you guys enjoyed this. Have a productive Week ahead.
Peace Always,
Mithuna

Great vids. I came here thinking that I knew everything, and realised I didn't.
Enjoyed the videos. Too bad Rob is suffering from Pachelbel paranoia.
