Forever Please

Waking up, a robot in motion,
Being whatever needs being
Nurse, lover, wife, mother
with miles to go, Before sleep is due.

Every thing with its place
None of their needs ever dismissed,
Not asking why or demanding dues
Patiently waiting, before sleep is due.

Evenings with freshly cooked meals
With a smile and perfunctary hug
He relaxes with the remote in hand
Sighing silently, before sleep is due.

In the darkness, when Needs peak,
Not asking if She needed release,
He turns away once hes done
Washing up, before sleep is due.

Quietly listening to his snore
Wondering if this is all life has in store,
Knowing the tightness of hearts locked doors,
Hoping to sleep, forever please.
