From Beyond

Listening to footsteps beside me
Walking together as we should be
Invisible eyes watch our every move
Through the veil of time and skies above
Window-shopping, we keep our distance
Waiting for darkness, perhaps a chance.

In the Grand Mansion of plenty
Every room ornate yet empty
People with smiles a mile
Food heaped in many a pile
In the room I feel-
Your breath caress my nape,
Every pulse beat through my cape
Every inch of your palm prints
Every wave of your thoughts
Your every gaze bores a hole
Through my fortress, like a mole.

Darkness hears whispered names,
Moonbeams through the windows lace,
Bares my soul for you to see
In Nakedness, wholly Yours I'll be.
Drumbeats subside in the glen
Waking me from slumber's den.
Sighing quietly Over dreams lost
When death put him in the past.

We walk together, like always
Keeping to time's pathways
I wait for darkness, in vain.
To be with you again.

What makes this an exceptional piece of work first is that it is two years old but still reflects upon the now of our lives. Second and foremost, this will become, if you allow it, to be something spoken of in years yet to be for others to ponder and reflect on. Very talented write this is.

This is so sad, remembering the times spent happily together, and yet, full of hope that in time, you will be together forever...

I really like the way it flows, it is a beautiful poem and I especially like the second stanza... not sure why, could be that the first line draws you in. Thank you!
