Images and Words - Green

Green on green

Green on Green

This was taken in June of this year on our Visit to India. There were parakeets in the Tree Canopy, all in a frenzy as there was a cobra up the tree. There are five parakeets in the picture, Can you see them all?

I do see three and then Rashmi - to the very left I think that may be another but it does not look green.
Yet there is nothing like the lushness of green - this is why I love the spring and summer especially

WOW what an interesting shot Tracy, those parkeets sure blend in well with the greenery and a snake up a tree as well!
I can only spot 4 birds, but will keep looking lol. Thanks for this wonderful green entry.

The amazing thing to watch was that all the birds, the parakeets, the myna, the crows and the ravens, didnt matter what kind were all trying hard to stomp that snake. I thought, that was the theme of Unity no matter what the species.. The snake did get into the nest and get the eggs and then it went away and everything was quiet on that tree. The children felt sad for the birds and I guess in some way the birds knew that we were watching. The Tree was really tall and for a while I felt guilty we didnt do anything but then realized I would have been guilty either way- if I stopped the snake, I was going against its nature to feed itself and if I left it alone I was letting the birds watch their chicks die..

It is hard to watch nature do its thing sometimes... but we humans ...lol ... well ...Let's say we are , for the most part, emotional..and anything being 'hurt' affects us..we take sides with the victim.. It's difficult when I see a baby chick laying alondside its fallen egg that broke from some tussle before it was ready to hatch ..Specially when I have watched Momma through her pregnancy and hatching time..I have names for many of the birds that visit my yard for worms and seeds... They are personal friends to me.. I am sure I would miss them if they didn't come by every day for some reason...As we do have cats, predator birds, like owls , and Jays...One mother bird comes every day ..hops up to me and stands there at my feet and says her hello .. then off to get her lunch.lol...If I don't come out .. she will hop on the screen for me ...and peep ..So cute. I would defintiely feel sorrrow if she disappeared .

How lovely and sad, the whole story and the photo. it's wonderful to see these birds in the wild and not cooped up in a cage, regardless of the cobra.

Absolutely gorgeous greenery!
