This is one of the thought provoking blogs, apart from the fact that it gives me a perspective on what I wish I didnt see or hear.

An uplifting documentary, "Born into Brothels," dealt with some of these children beating the system. A photographer befriended children living in one of the poorest areas of Kolkata and taught them to take photographs. The photographs were sold which raised money for many to get an education and break the "cycle" of poverty. The film usually is available for rental. It reminded me of children I saw when visiting Kolkata. VERY powerful and the kids are delightful and amazingly resilient..
Children, sweet children....These horrors will change... I must believe that. I must believe a better world is coming soon... and these holy children will no longer be sacreligiously defiled. They bring such bright spirits to the planet...and darkness tries to keep their bright light from shining...but that seems impossible...To the children, this is life...and no one ever told them differently. They sparkle in the dust and dirt like jewels waiting to be noticed.
Thank you for dropping by Peter. I watched that documentary too...Its one of the greatest gifts of nature- resilience. I am glad that there are angels walking amongst us, in the form of everyday people(the photographer in this instance.). :)
