Creative Challenge #23 : Life is a Pleasure

To wake and watch dawn
The brightness of a spilling sun
The leisure stretch of loved one
Peaceful face,  even peaceful eyes
Kids snuggling under my blanket
Love brimming in our heart's pocket
Giggles as they brush their teeth
The creaky floor, under little feet
Doors that gently close
Winds that caress, as it blows
The smell of freshly brewed coffee
Breakfast's warmth in our belly
Taking time to walk the garden
Knowing nature, our soul's guardian
Feeling the cool dew under barefeet
Humming birds sipping nectar sweet
The twittering of the birds in trees
As they fly out in three's
The barking of the neighbour's dog
The chipmunk sitting on a log
A smile and wave from a neighbour
Reminiscing dream from the night before
That feeling of loving and being loved
The name on the lips of my beloved
Music thats easy on the ears
Hands that hold to soothe my fears
The Moon journeys across the sky
It could be a bull's eye
Completly present in our Being
Of knowing joy in simple things
Grateful for another day
Life is a Pleasure, in any pathway.

As I read, all the images you created came to mind...reminding me of things past and present in my life, and moved me to tears..I don't know why, I'm kind of a mushy chick! But I am thanking you for this, our spirits need to be shaken once in a while..:)
Simple things...As I always said, happiness ain't coming with a boom, it is in small and simple things of everyday..
Love you, sis!!

Looking back over these comments says one thing to me... that you are a gifted writer, Rashmi.. You have a rare talent of extracting your Self from the depths and putting it on paper... Not many of us have that talent. We fall short when trying to put our feelings into words. But you capture so many aspects of womanhood and our inner beauties and fears...Everytime I read something of yours, a tear appears...whether from appreciation, validation, commiseration, or that place a woman needs to visit but doesn't know how. I applaud you...thank you.
Namaste

LOL, Sometimes it does feel like they have been barking waaay too much but for the most part they are pretty well behaved dogs(except for the occasional mounds of poo in our lawn)

Your thankful heart is starkly apparent in this write and shines through in each heartfelt sentiment you penned in this beautiful piece, Rashmi. You write as one being content, this is certainly a lost commodity in today's societies, world wide. Thank you for sharing.

YES .. this is how I feel, but I didn't know it fully. Aren't we exceptionally lucky to know the pleasure of a day.

It's like you have taken a blank canvass and coloured it with so many different hues! I love this! It's inspiring and ... well, there is so much going on here! All of this is wonderful. You filled this to over-flowing and, to be honest, it deserves a few reads to get everything out that you have here. An absolute gem of a poem!! Best I've read so far, by no doubt!

Your poem made me think of all the things in my life that have brought me pleasure. They are so similar ... we are all the same in many ways, aren't we? Your poem is simply touching and beautiful.

A very good friend of mine would say this poem gives him the "warm fuzzies." In real terms that means he enjoys it so much he gets a feeling deep inside that's hard to explain, but it makes him feel soooo good. That's what I got from this! The minute you started talking about your children the poem breathed life. There's no other words to say it. This is incredibly beautiful! Thank you sooo much for sharing it with us.
