My Monkey, My pet.

This poem was an inspiration from Rajshree's Blog about the Monkey and grandmom . Thank you Rajshree for sharing that story

My dear monkey.

When our eyes met
The joy we felt
We knew something
We didnt want to acknowledge
I knew we were more than friends
But what more?

We sit looking out the window
Eyeing each other
Each wanting more
Than the other could give.
We cant walk together
Or share a meal at a table
We cant hold hands
Or Kiss like people do
Scrapping through life
That doesnt belong to me
My life has no place for you
The kind I wish to give.

I know I cant help you
Misery sure loves company
I love the way you swing through life
Wish I could live the way you do
Your brown eyes melt the ice
In my hearts deepest recess
Your long tail invites me to
Hold you, touch you
Your yelps, hisses and whines
are music, my ears crave
I knew we were more than friends
Dear monkey,
you are the pet I never can have.
