Tuesdays Thoughts - Feb 23rd 2010

1.  I am not going to talk about coffee. oops I just did.

2. Yesterday our son turned eight...and this morning he walked to school without giving me a hug. Hmm..does he think hes already grown up? or Is he so confident that I will be here when he returns home?

3. I read this definition of Open Minded by another blogger and thought YES!! that is part of my definition. He said - "Open Minded - means, that anything is possible, with or without proof. " and Mine, Open Minded - Being aware that anything is possible with or without proof and that each of us may prefer a particular view of  our world. This doesnt necessarily mean there is a wrong or a right, only what works or doesnt work in the circumstances we choose to be involved in. When everything works out well for all involved, it is Good/Right, when it doesnt, it is Bad/Wrong.

4.  A girl in my son's class told him that if he doesnt believe in Jesus, he would die soon.  For a moment as he narrated the incident, I felt anger rise and very protective of him, but before I reacted I asked "what did you do?" and he said "I walked away, b'cause I knew what she said wasnt true." Am I Proud?  You betcha!!   Proud of how he handled the situation and Proud of the fact that I didnt give into knee jerk reaction.

5.  I  have been reading about The Freemasons. I watched a documentary sometime ago and got really curious. After reading, I am wondering - Why do they say "secrets" of the freemasons, especially when everything about them is out in the open. Was that the selling point for the program or book? b'cause everyone loves to get an "In" on a secret?  They did the same thing with Hitlers "secret" bunker and the Secret in the book "The Secret" .....So should I ever get a book published and read widely, I guess I should have a Secret in the title. God! we do love a good Gossip dont we?

6. My daughter is annoyed that until her birthday, there will be only One year difference between her and her brother, now that he is Eight and she is still Nine...and then she tells me - "Yes, I know that is not Mathematically Correct".  I tried to stifle my amusement.

7. We had warmth and sunshine these five days and this morning, it rained... Guess nothing lasts for ever *sigh*. I havent had my fill of sunshine yet.

8. We are having a cold, cough and fever relay that started with my son and very methodically has followed the ascending order of age. Now I have it. I dont mind it as long as I can sleep well and get what needs getting done, done. I hope I dont give it to my husband.

9.  We watched the Movie- Mangal Pandey, over the weekend. Maybe I should write a review for it.  I think we are on a Bollywood Movie binge. Like all things in our life, its either a flood or a drought, no matter how much I wish for a balanced even keel.

10.  This week's Notes to Self :

  • Smile more even if your nose feels tickled.
  • Follow the Nike slogan - Just Do It.
  • Drink water even if you arent thirsty.
  • Know life is more than pre-occupation with cleaning.

Thank you all for reading through. Where ever Today Takes you, I wish you all a Fantastic Day!

Good Morning Rashmi... Such a nice bunch of Tuesday thoughts...
1. I have stopped drinking coffee... it has a tendency to cause mastitis ...which became a threat as lumps developed in my breast.... as soon as I quit the pain and the lumps went away.
2. I have three sons... mmm yes.. hugs can be a struggle for boys. They want to, but fight that urge.. peer pressure is such a nob.
3. How refreshing ! Open minds ! Fearless ! And willing ! wow !
4. Forget the hugs..lol .. this young man knows who he is... kudos ! ( the hugs will return when he gets over himself , and peers wash off like so many bagged pidgeons.)
5. mmmmm an oxymoron... Free and Secret
6. LOL !!
7. I'll trade the sunshine for the rain ... no matter how much my fellow Californians complain.
8. Chicken soup !!
9. How do you balance enjoyment?
10. And when those don't work .... take a nap. (wink)
.......Thank you ! and more of the same for you, Dear.

There are so many points here I want to comment on.

First...

They grow up younger these days, this didn't happen till mine was thirteen then he was an alien....LOL.

Being open minded in life is the best way to be. That way you are sure that you never exclude any idea that might arise. Anything is possible.

The Freemason's tell us only what they want us to know. Believe me Rashmi they have so many secrets that will never be told. They are the most sevretive group I have ever heard of and theat includes the FBI and the CIA LOL....

Loved all of your morning thoughts. I am off to quilt for the day now.

Perhaps not too much water or you'll be in the toilet all day. You have clever children.

I think your son thinks he is grown AND knows you will be there when he gets home again.

So much for not blogging about coffee, eh? ;)

I believe that just because something does not work out well for all involved does not make that something "bad" or "wrong". I think sometimes things we once viewed as "bad" actually turn out to be invaluable lessons. Just my two cents worth. I also have to remind myslef that soemtimes sh** just happens.

Hope your family gets rid of that cold bug and feels better.

Bet the "Secret Blog" would be a big hit ;).

Hugs.
