Head sinks into the inviting soft pillow
The days work done to our best ability,
Happiness sighs into the quiet night.
Buttons pushed in provocation
Headstrong remained civility
Happiness smiles at discipline.
Loud voices shout out in anger
One remains soft and gentle
Happiness alive in patience.
Unexpected jewels along the way
A compliment, kindness, belly laughs
Happiness spills around.
Honesty in all that is done
Eyes meet and smile at the mirror.
Happiness arrives with Intergrity.
Happiest days are those
When nothing is posed
When we are genuinely alive.

I love the mystery interlaced in this, I have a feeling there is a lot more to this than we could ever read between the lines...unexpected jewels make the ordinary day splendid!
awesome writing Rashmi!
As Danette said Rashmi 'Awesome writing'.
The trick is, in living every moment genuinely alive..well done.
Wow, Rashmi, this is spectacular and full of wisdom! I love that line near the end about how "Happiness arrives with integrity." This is my favorite poem of yours thus far, and you have written some fine ones!
Thank you Milli. That is the truth..:)
Thank you Jo.. I liked that particular verse more than others too.
Oh My ! ... This has the "Wow" factor ....makes the mind whirl at how determination to be happy can override the threats of being a victim...with grace.
A compliment, kindness, belly laughs
That would be me and my kids. :)
There is so much truth in this verse, it is overwhelming. The last verse says all.
there are times that our creativity in writing is nothing less than brilliant.......this, Rashmi was one of those times for you!
That last line sums everything up so perfectly... and truthfully
