They sound a bit mild to me, those feminists, mainly more educated and moneyed ladies who are happy they're where they are.

There are quite a few Indian couples who live in my neighborhood...Some still walk three steps behind.. others have emancipated themselves through peaceful measures.. such as a defiance of heart and a claim to independence through a standoff... It seems in learning their own value .. they have taught their male counterpart to value them also... but it seems not until many decades of servitude to the male has brought them to such...
It was a decision both partners came to.. either equality or nothing.. I love to witness this.. as I see it first hand here.
Those who still walk three steps behind have the sad, worn look of the woman in servitude... and the countenance of a slave. When I pass these couples on my walks.. I smile politely at the man.. and open my heart with a broader sense of oneness with the women... looking directly into those sad , tired eyes..and giving all I can in support, with my eyes.
In all cultures it is evident the belief systems have curtailed all power within the woman.. in one way or another.. and as long as women accept this.. women shall be in servitude... They certainly do not realize that man keeps them in this power structure because he, himself fears loss of power through equality...it is always such... men , as a whole, with those few wonderful exceptions, are unbelievably ignorant.

So far its not been Overt... its mellow. Although I like the idea of equality, I am not the kind who thinks that a Woman can be a Man (or the other way round), which is what most times people end up feeling like.
