Ten thoughts Tuesday

1. It feels good to get a sunshine  break after the downpour we had yesterday.  Warmth makes me feel like all is right in my world.  But we are supposed to have more rain our way this evening.

2. The Children are at school after taking turns at missing school, with some kind of flu.  Its such Irony, they have no flesh to loose, yet, when they are sick they lose their appetite.

3. I watched the Movie Yesman last weekend. It was a cross between philosophy and hilarity.  Saying yes to oppurtunities that come our way opens doors to knowing our own potential as long as its within limits.  Jim Carey looks old. Of course what was I expecting? They are Actors so they have access to the fountain of eternal youth?

4. We saw a double rainbow yesterday and the little ones had a debate about which rainbow will have the pot of gold at the end of it. It was amusing to watch the hypothetical argument between them. I wonder if that was scientific or metaphysical or just downright silly.

5. My planting is still incomplete.  Reasons range from- being sick, to taking care of the sick, hearing news about the sick, fatigue from being sick, dreary weather keeping me indoors and a general moodiness that surrounds me.  Why is it so difficult to stay happy and grateful for all that I have, instead of cribbing over stuff that I have no control over?

6.  I havent done anything creative lately,  its like my muse went to another galaxy. I have a large jumble of thoughts of which not one strand lasts more than 5 words and it doesnt make sense to my own scrutiny.

7. I love the way flowers are blooming outside while I walk the streets and the sounds of songbirds.  I saw a raven pluck of the dead twigs from our maple tree. There are three birds nest below our deck.  There are quite a few wars going on to.. squirrel wars, hummingbird wars and sparrow wars. There are 5 different species of sparrows that come to the feeder and two species of finch.  I definitely like the spring in spite of the allergies.

8. Somethings dont change no matter how old I get. I thought when you get older we do the everyday things to perfection. What was I thinking.  I got the silliest Mommy award cause I put in lunch notes in the wrong lunch box. Yesterday my daughter got the note I wrote for my son and my son got the one I wrote for my daughter in spite of having different kinds of lunch boxes.   My head needs to be fixed right.

9.  I finished reading "The East of Eden" (finally *phew*) It is a wonderful read, although it took a long while. I am impatient person when it comes to books, I like finishing them in one sitting and this isnt a one sitting book.  I loved the way the author (John Steinbeck) goes through the mental workings of the characters.  I specially loved two characters in the book, Samuel Hamilton and the Chinese Servant Lee.
I thought that if they really lived I would have probably married one or the other(shh.. dont tell my husband I said so).  Those two were the most aware characters in there, they had an wonderful rapport with each other too, born of respect. I also liked Lisa the wife of Samuel Hamilton for her practical outlook of life. She reminded me of my grandmom, the kind that Do cause it needs to be Done.  And  there was the resident evil, Cathy.. Oh my, she must have had some part of her brain missing, cause there was a total lack on conscience in her being.  Maybe I should write a review, but its an old book and a lot has been said and written about it... so I am kind of reluctant.

10. Hmm.. what should I cook for dinner?

Now, seriously... you are surround double rainbows, birds, trees, flowers and you are not feeling creative? That must be because you are a tired mommy. That's it.

I think so too Simona, I must be tired... I made roti with greens today, at least its healthy... Comfort food for me is usually some spicy snack followed with gooey chocolate.

I think those laws about planting are made by the farmers and usually it has something to do with the moon phases and the weather in the region.

I think Jim Carey looks old to me simply cause the First movie with him in it I watched was "Peggy Sue got married" somewhere in the 80's I think... and he was really young in that Movie. The Image stuck in my head so now he seems OLD.

1. ..Enjoy the sun..want some of ours ? :)
2. ..Ahhhh.. peace and quiet..or is it hurry up and get all this done before they get home ? :)
3. ..Looks like an interesting movie.. Carey has done some thought provoking movies over the years. I think he has always had messages with much deeper meaning than the obvious.
4. ..How about an equal measure of all three?
5. ..Why do you have to stay happy all the time??... Why don't you just be honest and be a grump.. Go for it..Let it all hang out and let everybody deal with it... It is such a drag putting on a happy face and being Mom of the Month all the time. It's healthy to allow those feelings to vent from you.. Your mind will settle if you amp up the grump..full tilt..and speak your mind.
6. ..Time to stop..take a breath.. stand still and allow your light to pierce the veils between your Source and your inner self. Your energy is out of balance..Be still.
7. ..Lovely picture
8. ..See #6.
9. ..Go ahead, wrte your own feelings about the book... You will have your own take..and I imagine the writing will be a fun diversion for you.
10. .Too late to answer that one...hope it was well received..
