I Hope all you Lovely Folks who grace my life with shared interests, humour, care and affection, are doing well. I apologize for not doing much here since the middle of May. I could make a big fuss about how Busy life is, but that would merely be an excuse, so I am going to refrain. The main reason I havent written anything is 'cause I am going through a very confuzzled(thats means confused and puzzled), indecisive phase. Now mostly that is me in my Natural State, but this time its interfering with blogging.
We have had wild weather, going from a 90 F to a 50 F and then going back to sunny to rains again.. My plants look like they are suffering from PTS(Post traumatic stress syndrome). They are all very confused(maybe the weather is confusing me too).. some have dried leaves on top and new shoots below. I can hear some of my plants scream "get to spring already!!! will ya".
My cousin, who I adore, is pregnant and I am going to be an aunt to one more kid in about 6 months. I think My parents are feeling their age. I sometimes wish I was in Bangalore, so that I could help them out. On the other hand, I will have to agree with my husband who says- we dont know how life would have been if we had lived in Bangalore, for all we know we couldnt have helped anyway.
We had our birthdays in the first week of June - my husband and I have our birthdays back to back. We are aging well I guess. He turned 41 and I 37. Two Gemini in one house? Yes, two sets of twins, pretty confusing sometimes. I pity my kids. They have to deal with four parents most times. One good and One evil twin from each parent. Two serious no-nonsense parents and Two seriously belonging in the Nut-house parents. And they never know which one is present on which day(giggling).
I have been reading too, mostly after the rest of the house starts to snore. (I like uninterrupted reading). Read a book on Yoga postures(planning on teaching kids some yoga during summer vacation). Read some on crafts too(have to see if I will ever use it). Read a self-help book by David Richo- Everyday Commitments. Hoping to use the tools in my life. Reading about Herbs on the Internet too, but I wonder how much of that information can be believed.
I also watched a few movies. I Finally watched the much talked about bollywood movie "Tare zameen par". My opinion - its a new theme for the Indian Scenario but maybe because I have read about teaching techniques that are tweaked to the student's unique personality so that learning becomes easier, it didnt impress me much. It had the typical stereotypes -- the father that doesnt want to seek psychiatric help due to fear of stigma. The mother that wont go against what is not acceptable within the family. Now Stigma would be a topic I would like to talk about. Someday, I might write about it. I watched a Korean Movie "A moment to Remember" about how Alzheimer's affects the life of a young couple... Its a very touching love story or chick flick.
These few weeks, the kids had their field trips, their field Days(where they are out of the class for most of the day) and their bug reports(daughter is studying Insects in the Science class). The highlight of my son's field trip was petting Salamanders(EWWWWW). Those poor salamanders will be mentally damaged for the rest of their lives, with all the touching, holding and shrieking that happened to them on that day. The pre-school I work at, had its Graduation Day. We had 17 graduates ready for Kindergarten in September. Its amazing to see how much they have grown over the past year. So I been pulled in different directions attending all these happenings. Summer Vacation starts today. Yes, I am sighing a sigh of relief cause I dont have to go through the morning Rush and sprouting grey hair for the next two months. I may not be blogging regularly but I hope to drop into your pages and leave type-prints.
The weekend is here. So heres wishing you all a Wonderfully relaxed and restful weekend. Have a safe Summer Vacation too.
Peace Always.
Rashmi.

Hello up there Ms soon to be summer from Its getting colder down under me. LOL. I went through the same here with my poor dear little garden babies and lost a few. Apples on the tree at one stage when the blossom came out at the wrong time..yes nature is having a hickey fit here too. As for Gemini LOL that's me too. I like to read in silence and alone so we share that. It is good to hear from You and to be honest there is another life without blogging but heyy!! sometimes blogging and sharing really does make the day. So come back when you feel to and welcome always to my page.
Hugs and 'Av a good weekend there Rashmi.
Awwwww i didn't know you are a gemini too ! Late but Happy birthday to you and your hubby ! That would be interesting with 2 geminis in the house, i couldn't imagine 2 of me lol ! Congratulations on becoming an aunt soon , my niece is gonna have a baby boy sometimes in the next month and my sister in law is expecting , a girl they think so far, its pretty exciting waiting for the little ones to make there way into the world isn't it ? School is out here now ,last friday I'm hoping for lots to do with them to keep them occupied . I hope you have a great weekend ! hugsssss
Oh and about the parents , wonder if you could get them to move close to you, it would be hard worrying about them being so far away and wanting to help them.
Happy birthday to all four of you...:)))
Even when you write about the daily stuff, it seems like a novel I can't let aside until I read the last line.
I already have a joint name for Mr 41 & Mrs 37.
GEMINI CONTENDERS!!!
How's that????
And did I forget my Belated Birthday greetings for the "Gemini Contenders"...
Belated birthday wishes.
Sounds like you've been having a great time. I'm very sceptical about the ong term usefulness of self help books except as an aid to improving the cash flow of the authors.
Hey Rashmi - think we all need times "away" from here - been there too. And totally understand what you are talking about. A belated HAPPY B-Day to you! And just enjoy how it is NOW! Huggss *~f~*
Hi Rashmi....we do all need a break once in a while and it sounds as though you have been very busy. Happy belated birthdays to you and your hubby. Hugs.
@ Milli, Hugs to you too. I was thinking maybe this is the right time to shift all the Native plants from Tropical regions to the Temperate and those from the Temperate to the tropical. It seems like the weather is shifting to its opposite in most places. Some one has to take care of the earth's food supply.
@ Connie, Thank you for the birthday wishes, :) it does get interesting especially when there are opinions that are fixed, things to decide on or argue about. Inspite of supposedly having similar traits, we see things very differently.
Congratulations! on becoming the grandmom and aunt. My parents wont be able to adapt to the "lonely" life here in the US...The last time I had the conversation, unless I drop/let go of everything we did here and move to India, being near them is a dream. They like having lots of people around them, inspite of all their issues and I understand why too...
@ Simona, Thank you for the wishes. LOL @ feels like a novel, thanks sweetheart.
@ Kannan, Gemini Contenders would be an apt name.
@ Giles, Yes, it feels good to have lots of things to do. I agree about self-help books, in all those pages he hasnt said anything that hasnt been said already, but I have found that reading the things you know somehow re-inforces focus on what needs to change. I feel the same way about Parenting books.
@ Lotte and Ronnie, Thank you for the Birthday wishes.. :). thank you also for understanding.(hugs)
Have a nice summer vacation..well with both of us working,we send our kid to summer camp...
hello, long time no see.. how have you been? Thank you:). Summer Camp would have been where the kids would have been had I been working. You have a good summer too.
Rashmi, I've missed you. I understand! Come over for poetry and treats and relax!
