At the first embers
in the child's eyes, the wonder
the excitement that spills over
The joy of discovery.

At the thought of
the first kiss, shared shyly
Under the shade of a mango tree
Declaring unspoken need.

At the feeling of awe
Looking at the double rainbow
After the first Rains in Fall
Feeling the earth Yawn.

Glancing shyly, across the distance
At that first love
Warmth spreading over.
