Salt the simplest of flavours,
Most basic of condiments.
What would life be, without Salt?
Salt, like People,
Hold personalities of their own.
Some are kosher, some not.
Some Flaky, fall off before you eat.
Some Earthy, a pinch in a drink,
Cramped muscles, ease from the brink.
Powdery, jacks of all trade,
yummy curries are made.
Crystalline, quite set in its way,
Sculptured lamps in exotic ways.
With salt, Were discovered lands across the sea;
With salt, Gandhi made History;
With salt, Trade routes born;
With salt, Superstitions are borne
Sharing salt makes a loyal friend
Throwing salt over the shoulder, keeps the devil at bay.
Marking salt around a place, protection from evil.
Offering salt, shouldnt pour from hand to hand but picked up.
Salts, on People,
Flow through a sweat of metaphors
Warriors, battle with the salt of honour.
Sages, wise with salt of truth.
Sportsmen, win with the salt of practise.
Lovers glisten with salt of passion.
Farmers smile with salt of toil.
All of us, The Salt of the earth.
Salt, the simplest of flavours,
Most basic of condiments.
Salt, beats blandness out of Life.

I love this...salt is simple yet complex just as you have written :)
I really love this salt so much that I read it twice....
No wonder God tells us to be salt. So essential, so necessary.
