The Affair

This is my entry for the Poetry Wednesday hosted by Sans Souci

In the quiet of our hearts
Conversations mute
Remembering-
His wife, my husband
What do we say to them
Wondering-
Where do we go from here?
What are we going to do?

Did Fate play its cards right?
Is this the way our life will be?
Resisting the pull
With all our might
Denying each other
As if to spite.
Keeping our silences
With our faces trite.

So close but always apart
Where ever you are
Is where I can never be
Where we are
We'll be lonely.
Passing by, looking in
Looking out, staying in.
Yearning For that
which our minds forbid.

LOL, sorry I never call you names. So here I go giving you your wish, what should I call you, Sweetie? Honeybunch? Sexy mama? Dear? Dahling? (kidding). I like the Uniqueness of people, so I refuse to call them by common names.

Rashmi, this is from the heart! This is so true. Why does life sometimes deal us such fate. How sad and so much suppression of passion. What a story of unrequited love. Beautiful expression.
Resisting the pull
With all our might
Denying each other
As if to spite.

Big sigh, big hug.
So glad you made it this week.

First, if only you knew how this effects me LOL.

Second, those lines I put here made me cry because...yeah know that feeling. So beautiful and so much passion in each and every word. But there's so much pain involved too. Anguish over what can never be, over what is, and what it will become.

Though the tears pour down my face I THANK you for this beautiful poem!

Powerfully expressed emotions that will be left tucked away in that secret garden which we make for loves lost, loves left and love that will not find the ultimate joy. Beautifully expressed and so close to many an unfulfilled heart.

@ John - Long time no see..:). Glad you enjoyed this

@ Sue - Thanks to you, I posted this here.. I wrote this about a year ago but hesitated to post it on here.. Guess everything has a gestation time :P.

@ Lori - I wish no one ever has to go through something like this but I notice more and more people in this kind of pain. The Sad part is that they will probably end up taking this secret to their grave...

@ Milli- thank you.. I loved the one you posted.. I was so tickled, I narrated it to my hubby(who doesnt really enjoy Poetry but gets the Humour) and he sat there Chuckling too.. it was fun.

You have expressed in words the feeling of the chest tightening, the dry mouth, the quickening of the pulse. Yes, he enteres where he is unexpected....Once you thought the feelings were put safely away....same as before. Must be hidden. Quite a ride..Thank you.

To look upon happiness while living daily in despair, and held in place by duty--a self-imposed prisoner with no viable alternative. Such tears can sting so deeply.
lovely and so sad.

The agony of denial, the pain of the unfulfilled...Some people can't stand it and yield to their passion, choosing to face the painful consequences. Others choose to endure it, thus avoiding the pain at the end. Both sides bear regrets...Only realization of our inner depths can bring redemption!...
Thank you for the poem, it's so sincere, sensitive and deep! :)

(Still on the Poetry Wednesday Tour, as I didn't have the time to visit everybody in the past two days! Have a great weekend!)
