If I said

What would you say
If I said -I missed you
even while we were sitting together
If I said -I wish I didnt love you
while we exchanged harsh words
If I said - I would die for you
while you didnt know I exist
If I said - I wish we were together
knowing we couldnt even if we tried
If I said - I wish you were happy
while we couldnt be happy together
What would you say
while we dangled at the edge of an abyss
where we cant say aloud "I love you"
What would you say?

Lovely page, Rashmi.
So many ironies here, pulling in opposite directions. Love is so difficult sometimes, it is like dangling at the edge of an abyss, especially if it is unrequited, hidden--If I said - I wish we were together
knowing we couldnt even if we tried...

So many ifs--I would like to know the answers too, I am left dangling over the abyss!!
Thanks so much for participating.

Am I lucky because I have a hidden code? When we can't tell each other openly we love each other we use the code words "Olive Juice." Now I have no idea how this came to be LOL. Just popped out in conversation one day. But I can SO understand this poem.

In saying all that the thing I would say to you is OLIVE JUICE!

What would you say
If I quietly went away?

I would say:
In my heart You
Will always stay!

Lovely verse so full of the unanswered, that is so often felt.
Thanks for your comments on mine also.

@ sans souci..thank you for the comments.. Love is a Simple yet difficult for some, its a perfect Yin-yang concept. :)
@ Lori - Welcome to my space. LOL @ olive juice, does that taste good I wonder. It should go down as an idiom in the dictionary.
@ Sri Jayaraman, thank you so much for taking time to read through and leave comments. I am glad you enjoyed it :)
@ Milli : we sure love our word games dont we(giggling). Yes, In my Heart You will Always Stay. I havent had anyone say that in the almost 2 years that the poem has been posted. That was the actual idea that inspite of the Pain they live in our hearts. Love is Love, no less, no more, even when its unsaid, unrequited, hypo-understood and hidden.
